Elise & Andrew at The Post Office Hotel
Elise and Andrew getting hitched at their loca The Post Office Hotel.
These cuties met in 2010 after the AFL Replay Grand Final, Elise said she was probably the drunkest person in Melbourne and an easy target for Andrew. They had a mutual friend introduce them that night and they hit it off.
No numbers were exchanged that drunken day but as luck would have it, they randomly bumped into each other again the weekend after, which really “spun us out”
After hours of talking that night, they did swap numbers this time and a week later Andrew took Elise on a date…and that was it! Before they knew it, they were in a relationship.
From the very start it was always just so easy and super fun with between these lovers…8 ½ years later and 2 kids…they finally made it official!
Andrew proposed to Elise in Margaret River with her Mums engagement ring, she passed away when Elise was ten, so you can image how emotional this proposal would have been!
Pre Ceremony Drinks – you can never go wrong with that additive!
“As our guests arrived for the ceremony, they were welcomed with a mini cocktail (aperol spritz or a pimms) They were in gorgeous little jars. They were a big hit with all of the guests, even at 11:15am!!”

“We hired jars for the rose petals, wishing well sign, a wishing well mail box and for our cakes we hired a cake stand and x2 round tree stumps”
“I wanted to be a non traditional bride and for some reason I decided I wanted to wear blue. I found my dress from Rebecca Vallance in Armadale. It was sold out Australia wide but someone had returned it the day before I came to the store….and it was blue…and my size!! I couldn’t believe it!! I had only been to one other shop that day. So within 1 hour of shopping I had found it! I fell in love with it there and then. The bow!!”
My shoes were from Jo Mercer
“Our flowers were actually artificial. My aunty use to be a florist and made up my bouquet (silk peony’s) and Andrew’s pocket flower.
I put a photo of Mum and I in my bouquet.”
“We loved our ceremony, we had so many laughs and tears (first time I had ever seen Andrew cry) but the best part was having our children with us. Skyla, who is 3 walked down the aisle on her own holding a balloon while Andrew was waiting up the front holding Mason, 1.
My dad than walked me down to all 3 of them…Yes it was very emotional!!! The kids than sat in the front but Half way through the ceremony Mason, got quite upset so we got him up there with us which then made Skyla want to be with us too. We loved it.
Mason started sucking my shoulder big time as I was trying to say I do, which was quite hilarious…It just summed us up to a tea, no matter what we are doing we are still being a Mum and Dad, even while trying to get married.
Roger was brilliant and really had everyone’s attention. The venue was perfect too, it felt so intimate. We just loved every bit of our ceremony…We were really worried about having it go for too long, we initially wanted it to be done in 15 minutes, I think it went for about 25 but the time went so quickly and we were just in our own world.”
“We use to live close by to The Post Office Hotel and loved going there for a drink. It has a great vibe! We also loved being able to get married and have the reception all in one spot and have it during the day.
Our ceremony started at 11:30am. The area we hired was perfect, it has all greenery and plants all around, so we didn’t need to anything to it. When we were looking at venues, we were looking for spaces that spoke for themselves and we felt The Post Office Hotel certainly did that.
We added some minor touches such as jars filled with rose petals for the tall tables and for the ceremony, we had rose petals on the ground that we stood on.”
“Our wedding cake was amazing! We had 3 cakes made in 3 different flavours. Chocolate mud, white chocolate and raspberry mud. They were all delicious and looked beautiful. I found Donna from Mother Duck Cakes on Facebook, she lives locally to us.”
The Best Bit
“Walking down the aisle towards my beautiful tribe Andrew, Skyla and Mason was an emotional and most memorable moment. Also Andrews speech blew me away, so heart felt and full of emotions.
Omg the whole day was amazing, it is really hard to choose!!
The only thing we wish we did, was give Andrew our photographer, a list of who we really would have loved to have photos with. We were so busy on the day, we didn’t think about it.
Our advice, if you can afford a videographer as well than don’t hesitate! We weren’t going to have one, but last minute decided to. The best decision we made! We got a 10 minute highlight video and it is perfect! We have watched it so many times, especially Skyla.
We are over the moon that we have such precious photos and a video too.
“We reserved tables at the Provincial in Brunswick for the kick on after the wedding, which we were so happy with because the reception finished at 5 and not many were ready to go home. We had a ball there too!”
“We had a bbq at our house for the recovery day. It was awesome being with friends and family the next day while we were on such a high from the day. The celebrations continued well into the night with non stop debriefing of the day!! It was the BEST!”
